EVENTS & Captains Update
Captain's Update - Robin Page
Hi Friends,
Our run in conjunction with Robert Burke's C & V8 Register to the Victorian State Rose Garden at Werribee went off extremely well and the 72 folk who came along obviously enjoyed the experience.
The catering team provided the gratis breakfast and it was clear that the concept of a simple picnic run to an attractive location with free grub thrown in was right on the money. Many thanks to Graeme Davies for the idea and to the members of both registers who pitched in to help on the day. A great effort from all concerned. We will definitely be considering something similar again.
Three MGAs fronted to the Attwood 'Sprinatakhana' event and enjoyed themselves with Ric Collett bringing home the bacon. David Hutchings came along and spent the afternoon lamenting the fact that he had believed the forecast of rain, and even hail, and accordingly had not dared bring his hoodless car.
And looking ahead - The Events Calendar on the website http://www.mgcc.com.au/calendar/calendar.asp#NOW tells you what is coming up and I urge you to support the many treats on offer from the other Registers as well as our own events. (Specific details of MGA events can be found below).
I will not list them all but do want to give a very big plug for the 50th Anniversary Ball on Saturday 23rd August. This is going to be a fantastic night giving one of the rare chances these days to put on the glad rags and do it in style. Barry Richards is co-ordinating our bookings and tables and it is important that we get this organized early rather than at the last minute. It is going to be a big help to the organizers if they start to get an idea of the numbers well in advance of the event. Not surprisingly a number of previous Club members from the 'early days', who are no longer owners or members, are keen to join in the celebrations of this very special anniversary. Don't procrastinate - pick up a pencil, mark the date on your calendar and give Barry a bell - 0418 128 825.
Enjoy your MGA
Best to you all.
